In Week 20 of Advanced 3D Computer Animation, Professor Serra Özdemir asked me to compile the final submission of my VR 360 project Vishwaroopam. This week marked the completion of the entire development process where I prepared and submitted the final artifact in multiple formats to ensure different methods of viewing and accessibility.
A) VR 360 EXPERIENCE
The first version of my submission was the main 360-degree VR video, which I uploaded to YouTube. This allowed viewers to experience the project interactively through YouTube’s 360-degree viewing system. Users could rotate the view using their mouse on a computer, navigate the environment through touch controls on mobile devices, or simply move their mobile phones physically to look around the virtual environment. This format represented the intended immersive experience of the project.
B) FINAL SHOWREEL (EXPERIMENTAL)
This version was prepared for viewers who preferred a traditional viewing experience or did not want to interact with the 360-degree environment. It allowed the narrative, dialogue, and visual presentation to be viewed in a fixed cinematic frame.
C) FINAL SHOWREEL (EXPERIMENTAL) + CLASS EXERCISES
This included a compilation of my overall development process and classwork completed throughout the module. This included the practical experiments, tests, and progress made during the different workshops and sessions conducted by Serrra Özdemir.
Through this final submission, I understood the importance of presenting experimental work in multiple formats depending on different audiences and viewing conditions. The process helped me develop knowledge of VR storytelling, 360-degree filmmaking, Unreal Engine workflows, and the importance of adapting immersive media for accessible presentation.
