In Week 15 of Advanced 3D Computer Animation, Professor Nigel Mairs scheduled another one-to-one online review session to continue improving my draft literature review and refine the structure of my research proposal. During this session, I focused on improving the relevance of my literature sources, strengthening my argument, and refining the presentation of the research topic.
Step 1: Receiving the Literature Review Feedback
“The review presents an informative outline on regulated and legal frameworks and also highlights loopholes surrounding ownership rights.”
“The literature review should become less contextual and more focused on sources that directly support arguments for and against ownership rights.”
“As you are identifying a gap within current literature, it is important that your sources contain reliable and confirmable information and data.”
“Game titles cited in-text should always appear in italics with their production date included.”
“The title should be more hook based and engaging while still functioning as a research question.”
“The opening line should immediately establish what the research is about and include a direct problem statement before the literature review begins.”
I understood that some sections were becoming too descriptive instead of critically analysing scholarly sources and platform evidence. This encouraged me to further evaluate the credibility of the academic materials and platform policies I was using within the study.
This session helped me refine both the academic structure and presentation style of the proposal.
