In Week 08 of Experimental 3D Computer Animation, Professor Serra Özdemir asked me to develope my project proposal and presented my 360 VR animation progress to Sara Özdemir for feedback. This week focused on refining the narrative direction, technical pipeline, and preparing a structured written proposal that explained my final project approach in detail.
Serra reviewed my rough 360-degree scene and the current pipeline I had built.
Step 1: Developing the Project Statement
Alongside the feedback session, I was required to submit a project proposal PDF of around 500 words. I wrote the proposal by outlining my concept, story direction, intended emotional tone, and the technical workflow for producing a 360-degree Unreal Engine animation. The document included how I planned to use MetaHuman, Live Link Face, VR rendering tools, and post-production steps to complete the final output. It also explained how the narrative experience would be structured and how the viewer would interact within the 360 environment.
Step 2: Project Updates
I presented my early renders and animation progress. I showed how facial capture was integrated into the MetaHuman system and how the scene was being developed for immersive viewing. I also explained the current status of voice integration and the rough structure of the final experience.
Step 3: Receiving the Feedback
Serra reviewed my initial direction positively and appreciated the originality of the concept and said that
“I like the light movments with the camera”
“But the tone feels a bit creepy right now. Instead of keeping everything inside one dialogue, you should expand the dialogue and add more interaction.”
“Make the audience feel overwhelmed in a controlled way so the emotional intensity increases across the scene.”
This feedback helped me refine both the narrative structure and emotional pacing of the project. I understood that the experience needed stronger dialogue variation and better control of intensity to improve immersion in a 360 environment. I also understood that the written proposal and practical development must stay aligned, with clear planning guiding the final production pipeline.
