In Week 07 of Advanced 3D Computer Animation, Professor Ting Liu taught me polishing techniques for heavy object and change of mind animation. She explained how body mechanics must support weight distribution, how Euler rotation issues affect rig stability, and how constraint behaviour influences object interaction. She also showed how polishing requires reducing noise in motion while keeping intention clear. She emphasized readable decision change through posture shift instead of camera reliance.
Step 1: Developing the Animation
I continued working on the heavy object blocking and refinement stage using the Ninja Turtle rig. I adjusted pose timing and improved weight shift when the character interacts with the object. I refined spacing between lifting, hesitation, and release. I also corrected camera angle alignment based on previous feedback to maintain consistency with reference direction. I improved the contact point between hands and object to reduce rig breakage during movement.

After submitting my animation, I received strict feedback from Professor Ting that:
“Animation shows improvement in clarity, but rotation instability still appears in transitions and weight change needs stronger physical logic”
I learned that heavy object animation depends on grounded balance and controlled arcs in spine and pelvis movement. I also understood that change of mind must appear through body hesitation instead of sudden pose shifts.
I will focus on simplifying motion layers and improving physical accuracy in lifting sequences. I will also test rotation stability earlier in blocking stage to avoid rig issues during spline refinement.
