In Week 04 of Experimental 3D Computer Animation, Professor Serra Özdemir gave feedback to my experimental animation. I presented my initial concept and discussed how I planned to approach the project based on the first brief, which focused on creating an unusual experience or an alternative reality rather than representing a conventional realistic environment.
Step 1: Developing the Idea
I explored the visual possibilities, narrative approach, and experimental elements I wanted to include in the project. Since the brief provided complete creative freedom, I began thinking about how I could develop a unique world and use animation, visuals, and atmosphere to communicate the experience.

Step 2: Receiving the Feedback
Serra reviewed my initial direction positively and appreciated the originality of the concept and said that:
“I really like the idea you are developing”
“You need to avoid overworking the artistic side. Focus on experimentation and testing ideas instead of making it too complex as it will be suitable for 360 VR video”
“Keep your intention clear and let the process stay simple and controlled”
This feedback helped me reconsider the scale and approach of the project. I understood that experimental animation does not necessarily require excessive visual complexity. A simple idea executed with clear experimentation and strong intent could be more effective. Moving forward, I planned to refine my concept while maintaining a balance between creativity, technical exploration, and the goals of the experimental brief.
