In Week 02 of Advanced 3D Computer Animation, Professor Ting Liu asked me to worked on the Hunter to Prey assignment. Ting introduced the brief where narrative transformation between power states had to be shown through animation and staging. The focus was on visual storytelling where control shifts between characters must be readable through action and camera.
Step 1: Developing the Previs Animation
I collaborated with Maria to develop the concept. I designed a narrative involving an old man in a dark alley who is initially attacked by a hidden aggressor. The story shifts when the character reveals a robotic mechanism within his walking stick, reversing roles and transforming the hunter into the prey. I created a rough previs using the provided rig and set, focusing on staging and timing.

Step 3: Receiving the Feedback
After submitting my animation, I received good feedback from Professor Ting that:
“This is the Good story arc, the best one among all.”
“The narrative reversal is clear, but the reaction timing needs adjustment. The transformation moment must occur after full visual confirmation, not during the transition.”
I refined the timing structure based on this feedback and adjusted key frames to improve clarity of transformation. I focused on separating action stages more clearly so the narrative shift reads without confusion.
