In WEEK 07 of Computer Animation Fundamentals, Professor Serra Ozdemir introduced us to dynamic lighting in Unreal Engine. She explained the different types of lights available, such as static lights, spotlights, point lights, flashlights, and even the sun as a light source. She also explained how dynamic lighting works, where lights are not fixed and can change, move, or project patterns. These dynamic lights can be used artistically, such as patterned lights projected onto walls or surfaces, moving light textures, and animated lighting effects that help create mood and atmosphere. She discussed how these lights can be applied creatively in environments to enhance storytelling and visual depth.
FINAL PROJECT (ROUGH PLANNING)
This week, based on my earlier research on statues and deities, I decided to focus on a snake deity concept. I selected a sage snake statue as the central element and created an early concept sketch of the environment. I planned a pond-like setting with the main snake statue placed at the center and supporting snake forms positioned around it, creating a balanced and symbolic composition.
